Today, I have a power-packed Affirmations for Weight Loss post. I want to share some of my favourite affirmations that will help keep you feeling positive on your weight loss journey.
I also want to share some ideas with you to really make the most of these messages specifically for helping you to create a positive mindset for weight loss.

I love affirmations and they have played a big part in my life for several years now. I discovered them and how powerful they are through reading about Louise Hay, founder of Hay House Publishing.

How to use positive affirmations to achieve your health and weight loss goals
Affirmations are super powerful and I love coming up with affirmation ideas to help me achieve my health and weight loss goals.
Here are some of the affirmations that I’ve come up with. To create your own, think of a specific habit you want to build and create a positive message to support you. For example, if you want to drink more water, you can create an affirmation such as… I drink a glass of water when I get up and with every meal.
- I love to drink water to nourish my body
- I really enjoy my daily walks
- I love my daily morning workout
- I make sure that I take regular breaks from my work to get active
- I love adding vegetables to all of my meals
- I choose food to nourish my body
- I love to move my body
- Every day I get healthier
- My body is healthy and strong
- I’m slim, healthy and strong
- I am healthy
- I am slim
- My health is a priority for me
- I love feeling healthy
- I love my body
- I take great care of my body and mind
- I have a really good relationship with food and my body
I really encourage you to get super clear about your health and weight loss goals. Most of us will have a goal weight, but I want you to think about other goals too.
Here are some more ideas for creating affirmations to support you in achieving your health and weight loss goals.
- Goal – Get outside and walk at least 5 days per week
- Affirmation – I enjoy my daily walks outside
- Goal – Do 5+ Mini Exercise Boosts (5 days per week)
- Affirmation – I love taking breaks from my work to fit in mini-exercise boosts
- Goal – Add veggies to my meals
- Affirmation – I love adding veggies to my meals
- Goal – Keep meals simple, clean (not processed) and watch my portion sizes.
- Affirmation – I keep my meals clean and simple – I watch my portion sizes and eat only the amount my body needs to feel good.
How affirmations work
I began using these positive statements to feel better about myself and my life and I’m using them now to help me lose weight and feel fantastic.
Weight loss affirmations work by filling your mind with messages that support you. You can reprogram your beliefs about your ability to lose weight.
I’ve found that the best way to use affirmations is to fill your mind with these positive thought statements throughout the day to help you shift your focus and behaviour.
Notes about using weight loss affirmations
I encourage you to read my How To Use Affirmations Guide for some general tips and then below I want to share some tips specifically for using them for weight loss.
People regularly tell me that they don’t think affirmations work. Now as a qualified life coach, law of attraction practitioner, and EFT master practitioner, and as someone who has used the power of affirmations to turn my own life around, I totally believe affirmations do work.
I’ve done lots of muscle testing (to see if people actually accept and believe the affirmations) and I’ve found that for most people, affirmations like…
I’m a perfect size 10 – It’s not too helpful if you’re currently a size 18. Your subconscious mind kind of kicks it out and says “That’s an outright lie.”
It’s better to do more acceptable affirmations for most people rather than affirmations that can be blocked because they are rejected as lies.
Affirmations To Keep You Feeling Super Positive
Affirmations are a great way to help you stay positive during your weight loss journey. They also help you stay focused on achieving your weight loss goals and help you to BELIEVE you can do it.
You can achieve your ideal weight. If you’re currently trying to lose weight, I want you to fill your mind with these positive weight loss affirmations throughout the day, every day.
Some people recommend that you write your affirmations down and say them out loud first thing in the morning or just before you go to bed and whilst I definitely agree this is good advice, I’d really like you to have your affirmations kind of playing on repeat throughout the day.
- Write your weight loss affirmations down daily
- Record to your phone and listen back throughout the day
- As you go about your daily life, say your affirmations to yourself
- pick one or maybe 2 that really resonate with you and really fill your mind with them
Affirmations help to shift your focus
Most of us who have struggled with weight issues have a habit of saying unhelpful and sometimes very unkind things to ourselves. Whenever you spot yourself saying anything that doesn’t fully support you on your weight loss journey, swap it for a weight loss affirmation. SPOT IT AND SWAP IT.
Here’s a simple example…
- Losing weight is so hard
- SPOT IT AND SWAP IT (for something better feeling)
- Losing weight is about building small consistent habits and I can do that one step at a time
Positive Weight Loss and What That Means
Positive weight loss is about creating healthy habits, learning to love yourself, and feeling great whilst on your weight loss journey.
I believe that with this kind of mindset, good health and a naturally slim weight are something we want to maintain for life because we really enjoy the feeling.
All too often when we are trying to lose weight or improve our health, it feels like a battle and we create a negative mindset. I want to help you shift that mindset to a positive one.
Filling your mind with affirmations will help you to build a lifestyle rather than focusing on quick fixes that will never work long-term.
Create your own affirmations
Whilst I really hope you love the affirmations I’ve already shared, I want to encourage you to create your own that are specific to you.
Think about the way you talk to yourself now, that mind-chatter that goes on. Is it supporting you or is it hurting you?
A few things to think about…
- The way you think about your body
- Your perceived ability to lose weight in a healthy way
- The way you think about healthy eating
- How you feel about fitness – Getting fit
If, for example, your thoughts are often along the lines of “I hate how my body looks, I’m so fat!” that’s never going to make you feel positive and help you on your weight loss journey.
Your positive weight loss affirmation would be something like… My body is amazing and it allows me to do so many things, I now choose to take really good care of my body.
Another example – If you are someone that thinks weight loss is really hard, swap that to a positive weight loss affirmation like this… Healthy weight loss is really easy for me now.
The power of NOW – Affirmation examples
I love this power word, it’s so simple but can totally change your mindset – the power word is “NOW”
Here are some examples…
- I NOW choose to love and respect my body
- I NOW choose to eat healthily
- I NOW find it easy to lose weight
- I Now choose to build healthy habits into my daily life
Using the word now sends a powerful message to your subconscious mind, the Universe and anyone else listening.
Whatever has happened and been true for you in the past, NOW, this is true for you. It really is a powerful mindset shift. I encourage you to really play about with this one.
Swap anything that doesn’t support you
Think ‘Spot it and Swap it’. As a law of attraction practitioner, this is one of the easiest mindset tips I can give you.
Any time that you catch yourself with a negative – limiting thought, spot it and swap it for something better feeling.
I’m so stupid, why did I eat that? – Spot it (it’s not helpful) and swap it – Okay, so I ate that and I’m not really pleased about it but I can now choose healthy options that nourish my body moving forward – I love and respect my body.
This is not about being perfect, we all know that negative self-talk never helps us in the long run. I want you to learn to love yourself and build a really positive relationship with your body. I hope these positive weight loss affirmations will go a long way in helping with that.
Use affirmations with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques is powerful for releasing limiting beliefs, blocked energy, and emotional blocks…
You may say an affirmation such as “I’m slim healthy and strong” but you might think “Well, that’s not true!”
By using EFT you can release that feeling of it not being true for you and allow your energy to support you. I encourage you to read this post on how EFT and Affirmations work together.
