If you feel your self-esteem is even a little low right now, this post will help you shift that energy in a really positive direction. I’m sharing my top five ways to improve your self-esteem — simple, supportive practices you can start using today.
Your self-esteem influences everything: how you show up, how you speak to yourself, the actions you take, and what you allow yourself to believe is possible. When it’s high, you feel capable, grounded, and ready to go after what you want. When it’s low, it can drain your confidence and make you question your worth.
I’ve been at both extremes — deeply low self-esteem and beautifully high self-esteem — and with my hand on my heart, life feels so much lighter, happier, and more aligned when your self-esteem is strong. This is something worth nurturing every single day.
Let’s dive in.
1. Affirmations to Improve Self-Esteem
Affirmations are one of the quickest and most effective ways to shift how you feel about yourself. They work both in the moment and over time, as they gently retrain your mind to think more positively and compassionately.
Affirmations are simply positive statements like:
- I am enough — I am always enough.
- I can achieve anything I put my mind to.
- I am more than capable of achieving my goals.
- I am confident in my abilities.
- I love and respect myself.
- I treat myself with great care and affection.
- I’m a good person.
- I love my life.
- I’m creating a life I love and enjoying the journey.
- Every day, I focus on being the best version of myself.
- I love, value, and appreciate myself.
TIP:
If you catch yourself saying something negative about yourself, pause and swap it for one of the affirmations above. That one moment of awareness can completely change the direction of your day.
2. Hypnosis to Support Self-Esteem
(Recommended Resource below)
Hypnosis has been a huge part of my personal growth, and I’ve used it for years. It helps calm the mind, shift old beliefs, and build new patterns of confidence and self-worth.
I personally use Hypnosis Downloads, and they have an excellent Low Self-Esteem Pack that I highly recommend.
I usually listen at bedtime — they’re deeply relaxing, and I often fall asleep before the end!

3. EFT Tapping for Better Self-Esteem
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is another powerful tool for increasing self-esteem. It clears emotional blocks by tapping gently on meridian points while focusing on positive statements.
Below is a simple, uplifting EFT round you can use anytime you want to boost how you feel about yourself.
✨ Positive EFT for Self-Esteem
Set-Up (Hands over the heart)
Take three slow breaths.
Say:
“I’m tapping today to boost my self-esteem so I feel positive and confident in myself.”
Now tap through the points:
- Top of the Head: I love and respect myself
- Forehead (Third Eye): I value who I am
- Eyebrow: I appreciate myself
- Side of the Eye: I am enough
- Under the Eye: I am always enough
- Tip of the Nose: I am worthy
- Under the Nose: I am more than enough
- Under the Mouth (Chin): I am a good person
- Collarbone: I am a valuable person
- Side of the Hand (Karate Chop): I love myself, and I love my life
Finish:
Return to the heart position, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Feel that calm, steady confidence settling in.
4. Journaling to Build Self-Esteem
Two types of journaling are especially powerful for boosting self-esteem:
Gratitude Journaling
Each day, write at least three things you’re grateful for — ideally something specific to that day.
This shifts your attention towards what’s working in your life, what feels good, and what you truly value.
Achievements Journaling
Write down your daily wins — big or small.
Some examples from my own life:
- “I shared a post on my business blog.”
- “I made a healthy meal.”
- “I listened fully to my son when he needed to talk.”
- “I took action on something I’d been avoiding.”
This builds evidence of your strength, your goodness, and the ways you’re growing.
When self-esteem dips, go back and read your achievements — it works wonders.
5. Improve Self-Esteem by Strengthening How You See Yourself
Self-esteem isn’t built overnight. It grows with daily choices, loving thoughts, and small shifts in how you show up for yourself.
To recap:
- Fill your mind with positive affirmations
- Try hypnosis
- Use EFT regularly
- Journal your gratitude and achievements
These practices work beautifully together.
