As a parent, of course, you’ll want to help your child use the law of attraction, so today, I’ve put together some top tips to help you.
Children generally find it much easier to use the law of attraction because they haven’t yet formed so many limiting beliefs. I encourage you to read Does the law of attraction work for children?
Today I want to give you some tips to help your child (grandchild, any child you are in contact with) to effectively use the law of attraction.
This article is a part of my LAW OF ATTRACTION PARENTING SERIES with loads of advice for parenting using the law of attraction, how parents can use the law of attraction and how they can help children use the law of attraction for themselves.

Grown-ups get in the way
Most children naturally use the law of attraction. I often think that if adults didn’t get in the way, children would continue to grow up using the law of attraction successfully.
Now parents, don’t start writing me angry messages just yet, I’m one of those parents who GETS in the way. At least I was when my son was little. He’s all grown up now.
Whilst I’m better at getting out of the way so that my son can use the law of attraction for himself naturally, I know I do still get in the way and I certainly did when he was younger (before I understood how the law of attraction works).
So there are loads of things I could tell you about children and the law of attraction, but that would take too long to add to this post, so I’m going to stick to the top 5 things I feel will help the most based on the question, can children use the law of attraction?
Oh and by the way, you never need to say to your child, I’m going to teach you how to use the law of attraction.
1. GET YOUR CHILD TO FOCUS ON WHAT THEY LIKE
Encourage your children to focus on things they like and enjoy. A good way to do this is to get them a simple plain notebook that they can write in, draw pictures in, stick photo’s in, stick pictures in, tickets, postcards…
They can add photos of people they love, their friends, favourite toys, toys they like that they want, places they’ve been to and enjoyed, and places they’d like to go to.
This book should help the child feel happy and positive whenever they look at it.
If your child comes to you and says “I don’t want…” ask them “Well, if you don’t want this, what do you want?” This question is the quickest way to shift their focus.
2. TELL YOUR CHILD WHAT YOU WANT
Parents are often very good at telling their children what they don’t want. Such as…
- Don’t touch that
- Don’t shout
- Don’t make a mess
- Don’t forget…
I still do it now and then, even though I know I’m simply putting the focus on what I don’t want.
The law of attraction gives us what we focus on.
Instead, tell your child what you do want. For example, instead of saying to your child don’t forget your homework, say remember your homework. Instead of Don’t make a mess, say, keep your things nice and tidy.
Always focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. That’s a really basic law of attraction rule. If you as a parent get into this habit, your child will too.
3. DON’T PASS YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS ONTO YOUR CHILD
I know that I have a mass of limiting beliefs and that after years of collecting them, most adults do. Children, when they are born don’t have these limiting beliefs. As parents, we need to do our best not to pass on limiting beliefs to our children.
It’s important to be aware that children can pick up limiting beliefs from friends, other children, school, TV, and even just listening to other conversations when they are in public situations like in a cafe.
If as a parent you are reducing the limiting beliefs they come into contact with and building up positive beliefs, your child will have a strong sense of what’s real and what is just another person’s belief. If they mention something that they’ve heard that is negative, you can explain that this is just someone else’s belief. It doesn’t have to be their belief if it doesn’t support them.
It’s important to let children know that they get to choose their own beliefs.
If your child says something that you think is a limiting belief, you can say “Hmm, that’s interesting, do you think that’s true or do you think that maybe it’s a false belief (not necessarily true)? This will help your child make judgments for themselves rather than just believing what they hear other people say.
A good way to work on your own limiting beliefs is through EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) You can watch my Free EFT Videos for more on this.

4. DON’T THINK YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE EVERYTHING YOUR CHILD WANTS
Phew, I’m going to be totally honest with you, my son’s an adult now at the time of writing this post and I still struggle with this one. But I always try to remind myself of this when he says he wants something.
If you think you have to provide everything your child wants, you are robbing them of the opportunity to attract it for themselves.
Sure if your child wants a new game/toy… and it’s at a time when you want to buy it for them, go ahead but don’t feel you have to.
A great tip is to have a book for things your child wants. Let’s say your child sees a toy they want in a magazine or catalogue. Encourage your child by saying things like “That looks exciting!” You can ask how it works and note things about the colour.
Your child is expressing what they want (naturally using the law of attraction).
What a lot of parents do is automatically say things like “We can’t afford everything you want.” or (definitely me) think I need to get that for them. Again, just because your child wants it, doesn’t mean you have to get it.
Get your child to make a note in their special notebook or stick a picture in and anticipate it being theirs.
5. LET THEM SEE YOU USING THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
Children don’t need you to sit them down and give them lessons on the law of attraction. What they need is for you, the parent to create a law of attraction lifestyle for yourself so that they can see it in action. They don’t even ever have to know the term law of attraction. I encourage you to read through my law of attraction posts here on the blog and ask if you have any questions.
Help your child to use the law of attraction
- Encourage your child to focus on what they want, what they like
- Tell your child what you want rather than what you don’t want
- Watch out for passing limiting beliefs to your child
- You don’t have to provide everything your child wants, let them attract it for themselves
- Let your child see you using the law of attraction to create the life you want
I hope you’ve found this post really helpful. I do want to finish off by saying that after 18+ years of parenting, I still haven’t totally mastered all of these things but just being aware of them will go a long way.
If you have any questions, please ask in the comments below and please share this post wherever you can. Thank you so much. Wendy
