Having a fear of rejection is actually very common, but it can really stop you from doing the things you want in life.
Today we have a 2-part EFT session. The first script is to focus on releasing your fear of rejection, and the second script is to help build a new positive belief about rejection.

Top Tip: Have a drink of water. Stand up and shake your arms and legs, and finally take a few nice deep breaths in and slowly release.
If you’re feeling stressed – Start here (IMPORTANT)
If you’re feeling particularly stressed as you think about your fear of rejection, I recommend that you do a simple EFT session first. Simply tap on all the EFT points and say “This stress” – I recommend 3-5 rounds. Here’s a Release stress post if you need it – EFT to RELEASE STRESS
I know you may want to jump straight into the actual problem – In this case, your fear of rejection, but it’s always, always well worth taking a few minutes to tap on stress first in this kind of situation.
I’ve had many times where I’ve been trying to release a block (fear is a block), and nothing much has happened. I’ve then gone back and done a few minutes tapping on stress, and then moved on to tap on the problem and seen great results.
EFT script to release the fear of rejection
- Set-up tapping the side of the hand (just below the little finger) – Repeat this phrase – I’m tapping today to release this fear of rejection.
- Top of the head: Rejection
- Forehead: This fear
- Eyebrow: Rejection
- Side of the eye: This fear
- Under the eye: Rejection
- Under the nose: This fear
- Under the mouth: Rejection
- Collarbone: This fear
- Side of the hand: Release, release, release
Take a deep breath in and slowly release – As you do this, imagine all your fear floating away from you.
Repeat this script for at least a full 5 minutes and then check in with how you feel. If you feel like the fear level has dropped a good amount, move on to the next script.
Remember to take a nice, deep breath at the end of each full EFT round and imagine all fear floating away from you.
EFT script to build positive beliefs about rejection
Now, we’re going to ‘tap in’ a new belief about rejection. The reality is that all of us are rejected at certain times in our lives. It’s normal and not something to be feared.
Or at least not something that you fear so much that it stops you from doing things you want to do.
You can repeat this script as many times as you want, and I recommend that you actually make this a daily script that you use for the next week or so to really build this positive belief now.
- Set up tapping the side of the hand – I’m tapping now to build a new positive belief about rejection. I understand that rejection is a natural and normal part of lif,e and it is not to be feared so much that it stops me from living the life I want.
- Top of the head: Rejection is a normal part of life
- Forehead: Rejection is simply someone letting you know this is not for you right now
- Eyebrow: Rejection gives you clarity so that you are able to move on
- Side of the eye: Rejection does not reflect on you.
- Under the eye: It simply means you’re not a match for this person or this situation
- Under the nose: Rejection is a normal part of life
- Under the mouth: It’s simply a way to gain clarity
- Collarbone: Even if I am rejected, I am enough
- Side of the hand: Even if I am rejected, I am enough
Keep tapping. And let me give you a little insight into what I mean by these words used in this script.
J.K. Rowling is the author of the very famous Harry Potter books but did you know that her story idea was rejected many times by publishers – I believe it was 12 times. Imagine if her fear of rejection had stopped her from approaching more publishers after that first rejection.
The rejection from those other publishers did not mean that the story was no good. It simply meant that those publishers were not right for her story for some reason. It was no reflection on her story.
If you apply for a job that you want and you don’t get it, that simply means that right now, you’re not a match for that company for some reason.
You can then check if you have the right skills, ask yourself if you need to work on your interview techniques… It’s simply giving you clarity and feedback so that you can move on.
EXTRA EFT SESSION: Tap on past rejections to release the emotion
As you go through life, people may reject you. This could be a friend, a partner, someone you’d like to be in a relationship with, a parent, a child or other family member, a teacher, a boss…
What you can do if you’ve felt hurt by a rejection in the past is tap on that memory. Simply start moving through the EFT points and talk about what happened. Here’s an example…
- Top of the head: I felt so hurt when this person rejected me (you can be really specific about the person and the situation)
- Forehead: I was doing my best, and they rejected me
- Eyebrow: It hurt for so long
- Side of the eye: It still really hurts when I think about what happened
- Under the eye: And how they treated me
- Under the nose: It made me feel like I wasn’t good enough
- Under the mouth: I don’t want to feel like that again
- Collarbone: I don’t want to ever be rejected in that way again
- Side of the hand: I was so hurt, and I don’t want to feel that way again…
As you tap, talk about what happened and how you felt. Next, tap on a positive feeling. You could say, “I now choose to release this feeling, I release this memory with love. I am enough”
I have a full blog post with scripts to tap on feeling that you are enough. When people are rejected, they often develop a false and unhelpful belief that they are in some way NOT ENOUGH.
I encourage you to work on releasing this belief and building a strong belief that YOU ARE ENOUGH.
