Today, I want to share just a small selection of affirmations to feel safe but more importantly, I want to share my tips for the best way to use these affirmations, including how to use them with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and a breathing exercise.
5 Affirmations to Feel Safe
- I’m safe
- I’m safe and protected
- All is well in my world
- I trust the Universe to keep me safe
- I feel safe

I’m Safe Affirmation
This is the most simple affirmation but I often find these short affirmations are the most powerful. They get straight to the point. When you feel unsafe you don’t want to have to try and remember long complicated affirmations.
Now, let’s say that you’re driving and you don’t feel safe. You can add to the affirmation and say, I’m safe whenever I’m driving my car, others on the road around me drive safely, I enjoy driving… You’re looking to create a positive thought cycle.
I’m Safe and Protected Affirmation
I love this affirmation. It helps me to feel that there is some power that is keeping me protected. This could be God, The Universe, The angels…
I will often say God and the Angels keep me safe wherever I am. I’m safe and protected by God and the angels.
I will also swap “I’m” for my son’s name, saying he’s safe and protected by God and the angels. I’m a natural worrier, which I know really isn’t helpful. Saying my affirmations to keep him safe and protected when he’s out, helps me to feel calm.
You don’t have to say anything in particular if it doesn’t sit right for you, simply say “I’m safe and protected.”

All is well in my world affirmation
If all is well in your world, you are safe, so I find this a really useful affirmation to repeat when I don’t feel safe, or if I’m worried about someone else’s safety. In fact, this is one of the affirmations to change your life that I wrote about recently. It’s a cover-all power affirmation.
I trust the Universe to keep me safe affirmation
Again, you can replace the word Universe with God or the Angels if you want to. For me, I like the ideas that the Universe is always lining things up for me to be safe whatever I’m doing and wherever I am.
I feel safe affirmation
You either feel safe or unsafe, so adding the words I FEEL… are powerful. I feel safe, I feel safe now…
You’re shifting your focus and aiming for better-feeling thoughts.
Create a positive thought cycle
The aim of using positive affirmations is to create a positive thought cycle. Imagine a time when you felt unsafe. You probably had all kinds of mind-chatter going on that supported that feeling of being unsafe.
Your thoughts are incredibly powerful and they will increase negative feelings if they are left to run wild.
Once you spot a cycle of thoughts that are making you feel unsafe, start filling your mind with positive affirmations to feel safe. Note that initially, your mind will try to return to those scary, I’m not safe thoughts. Just keep filling your mind with those positive I AM SAFE messages.
Your body is good at warning you
Understand that it’s natural for your body to warn you if it thinks you’re in an unsafe situation. It’s the fight or flight mode kicking in. A long time ago that was something people needed to survive on a daily basis but not so much these days.
However, do listen to your body. Most of the time, you’re not in those situations where you need to run for your life or turn around and prepare for battle. So, then you can start repeating your affirmations.
EFT and Affirmations to Feel Safe
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It’s super easy to learn and incredibly powerful. If you need to, check out my EFT – How to tap guide.
You can either choose one affirmation or use a few different ones. Here’s an example…

- Forehead – I’m safe and protected
- Eyebrow – I’m safe
- Side of the eye – I’m safe and protected
- Under the eye – I’m safe
- Under the nose – I’m safe and protected
- Under the mouth – I’m safe
- Collarbone – I’m safe and protected
- Under the arm – I’m safe
- Side of the hand – I’m safe and protected
Keep tapping until you feel safe. Also, if you’re not somewhere where you feel comfortable tapping on the usual EFT points, check out my EFT hand tapping post. This is a much more discrete way of benefiting from EFT.
Deliberately focus on your breathing
When you feel unsafe, you’re breathing will quicken, so focusing on your breathing and slowing it down with really help.
Take a deep, slow breath in and then slowly release. As you breathe in, say in your mind “I’m safe” and as you breathe out release any unsafe feelings.
Hypnosis to feel safe
I wanted to add this note about using hypnosis downloads to feel safe. I think this is especially powerful when you have a feeling of being unsafe a lot of the time. I remember when my dad died, I had a strong feeling that seemed to stay with me all the time that I wasn’t safe.
Please note that I am an affiliate for Hypnosis Downloads. You can definitely find hypnosis videos on YouTube but I’ve been using Hypnosis Downloads for years and it’s a company I trust. I also like to have my download in one place.
Check out Stop feeling unsafe – I like to put my downloads on once I’m settled in bed. And it’s fine if you fall asleep whilst listening. One of the advantages of them is that they’re incredibly relaxing.
