I’m a huge fan of using Affirmations and EFT together to form a real power combo.
In this post I want to explain why combining these two techniques is so incredibly powerful.
I’ll start off by explaining quickly what EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is and what affirmations are. Then I’ll explain the magic of the Affirmations and EFT power combo.
Combining Affirmations and EFT helps to release resistance to your affirmations and raise your vibrations so that you naturally become more of a match for the affirmation to be true for you.

What is EFT?
EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques, sometimes known as tapping works by tapping on Meridian Points
When we tap on these points we help to improve the energy flow in our body. When energy is stuck/blocked it causes us all kinds of problems, from increased fear, stress to physical pain.
EFT Tapping Points
The EFT tapping points that I like to use are as follows…
- Top of the head
- 3rd eye – middle of the forehead
- Eyebrow (the thick point)
- Side of the eye
- Under the eye
- Under the nose
- Under the mouth
- Collarbone (Gentle use your fist and tap the bone at the base of your neck)
- Side of the thumb
- Side of the index finger
- Side of the middle finger
- Side of the ring finger
- Side of the little finger

I start with a setup by placing my hands across the middle of my chest or I tap on the side of my hand (known as the karate chop point).
I will at this point say a statement that I want to focus on. For the purpose of this blog post, that would be an affirmation.
Quickfire EFT Tapping Points
Sometimes when doing affirmation EFT Do a shorter round only using these points…
- Top of the head
- 3rd eye – middle of the forehead

- Under the eye
- Under the nose
- Under the mouth
- Collarbone (Gentle use your fist and tap the bone at the base of your neck)

I personally like the affirmation EFT sessions to be more upbeat and to be able to go through a whole round quickly and easily. I do still do several rounds. I encourage you to try all of the tapping points first and see which you prefer.
NOTE: When clearing blocks, I do recommend that you use all of the points, for example, if you are feeling sad, scared, angry, clearing a phobia, clearing a past emotional event…

What are affirmations?
Affirmations are positive (usually present tense statements), such as I am Enough, I can do this, I have all the skills now that I need to achieve my goal…
I have found affirmations to be incredibly powerful in my own life and business. I believe in filling your mind with as many thoughts that support you as possible.
Some favourite affirmations
Some of my favourite affirmations that I use daily are…
- All is well in my world
- I’m always in the right place at the right time
- Time is always on my side
- Every day in every way, my life gets better and better
- I am worthy
- I am enough
- I am more than enough – I am always enough
- I am loved
- My business is a huge success
- I constantly create a life I love
- My income is constantly increasing
- I am slim, strong and healthy
- I’m successful in all areas of my life
You can use absolutely any affirmation you want with EFT.

Getting specific with affirmations
You can also get really specific and create affirmations that support you with current goals such as…
- My email list is constantly growing | My email list is growing rapidly now
- It’s easy for me to focus on my priority task for today | It’s easy for me to focus on completing this blog post | It’s easy for me to focus on completing my accounts | It’s easy for me today to focus on planning this meeting…
- I am fully prepared for a productive business meeting | I am fully prepared for today’s meeting and I have the most amazing team of people supporting me…
- I easily find the time to do the things I enjoy | I have time to go for a walk every day | I have time to prepare healthy meals | I have time to see my wonderful friends…
Here’s a really useful power question and it’s so simple “What do I want?” So many of us are really good at focusing on what we don’t want, but we have to train ourselves to really focus on what we do want instead. If something is showing up in your life that you don’t want, ask “If I don’t want this, what do I want?”
NOTE: Fill your mind with thoughts that support you and do it throughout the day, every day. Affirmations are not something to say in the morning and then the rest of the day, switch back to your default thinking.
The power of the Affirmations and EFT combo
Right, onto the magic. Okay, it’s not actually magic but sometimes it feels like it is. Combining Affirmations with EFT is incredibly powerful.
Over the years, many people have told me that when they say an affirmation, it feels like a lie. Maybe they say, I am rich and they are really in debt, so their subconscious mind says “That’s not true” or more likely some harsher words.

Affirmations tip
Firstly I would encourage you to create a slightly more believable affirmation – What I call a step-up affirmation.
EXAMPLE: If you’re currently in debt, something like “I’m now building wealth” will be more acceptable for you in your current state rather than “I am rich”
I’m using the I am rich statement but we can apply this same logic to any area of your life and business.
Once you feel more comfortable with this step-up affirmation, go for the ideal – I am rich | I am super successful in all areas of my life | My business is a huge success | I am a millionaire…

Stop resisting and start allowing
When I was doing my law of attraction training my tutor said something that really stuck with me above everything else – If you have clearly asked for what you want, and it’s not showing up in your life then you are RESISTING IT.
The theory is that if you ask for something, the Universe has to create it for you, your job is to allow it into your life.
When we use EFT to tap on the affirmation, we help to release resistance to the affirmation being true for you.
Now, I’m not saying that what you want will show up as soon as you do the affirmation and EFT tapping, but what happens is you open yourself up to allowing.
Also, when we tap, we raise our vibrations (create higher|better feeling emotions) and this also helps a great deal to attract the things you want.
I encourage you to have fun with Affirmations and EFT combos. The more you do this, the more you release any resistance, you put yourself into that wonderful place of allowing and you become more and more of a match for what you want.

Hi Wendy, I’m curious about using the same tapping points when clearing negative issues as you do for positive affirmations. I love the idea but it almost seems contradictory. Would very much appreciate your thoughts on this.

You’re working with your energy body whenever you do EFt tapping. When I first learned EFT, it was very much thought that you needed to release the negatives first (the low emotions etc) and then move to tapping on the things you want. And yes, it’s exactly the same points, but you would shift what you were focucing on.
In more recent years study’s have shown that we don’t actually need to release the low, unwanted emotions or for example, limiting beliefs. We can go straight to the positive emotions. Always with EFT, you are IMPROVING your energy (the energy body). I like to think of the EFT points as entry points to your energy body. I hope that helps.
