Today I want to focus on how to reduce stress with EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques. Please read my full EFT GUIDE if you’re new to EFT. It’s easy and super effective.
I am going to give you some EFT tapping scripts below but first I want to talk to you about why dealing with stress on a regular, ideally, daily basis is so important.
Find me on TikTok – Here’s a super quick EFT video to help release stress.
Do you even know you’re stressed?
The big problem with stress is that most of us, myself included don’t even realize we’re stressed until the levels get super high and it starts causing problems for us. Stress can massively impact our health and overall wellbeing and it can also make us think very differently and block us from achieving the life we want.

I first learned EFT when I was doing my Law of Attraction Practitioners training. I loved using it and found it really helpful in my own life. I would often recommend it to my coaching clients (note: I don’t offer any private coaching these days) but I didn’t do any EFT with them because I wasn’t a qualified EFT Practitioner.
So eventually I took my EFT Master Practitioner training and I have to be honest, I thought I wasn’t going to learn anything new. I just thought I had to take the training to get the qualification. I was so wrong and I’m so pleased I invested in this training.
The biggest thing I learned was how much stress impacts us. My trainer asked me to tap on something that had a big emotional attachment from my past. I had spoken to him and said it was something I hadn’t managed to clear. He told me to tap on stress whilst he went off and made us a drink. I did and he deliberately took his time. I then tapped on the original issue and found that it really only took a few rounds and I felt completely different about it.
It was the stress tapping that made a big difference for me. Did I feel stressed when I started tapping? NO. Would I have tapped on stress if he hadn’t told me I had to? NO. Yet, when I did this for about 10 minutes, the long-held emotional block shifted within minutes.
Silvia Hartman (founder of the EFT training I took) says that when we tap on stress, we get rid of the stress talk. I personally would encourage you to tap on stress daily and before any using EFT for specific tapping. When you do this you are able to see and feel the issue much more clearly.
Okay, so let’s do some stress tapping.
EFT To Reduce Stress
I see EFT videos to reduce stress and they have a different phrase at each tapping point. Now, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with these sessions but you really don’t need it to be that complicated.
My advice is to do a simple set-up phrase whilst tapping the side of your hand saying something like this – I’m tapping today to release any stress in my body. I’m tapping to improve my energy flow. I let go of all stress.
Then simply say STRESS at each of the tapping points.
- Top of the head – Stress
- Forehead – Stress
- Eyebrow – Stress
- Side of the eye – Stress
- Under the eye – Stress
- Under the nose – Stress
- Under the mouth – Stress
- Collarbone – Stress
- Thumb – Stress
- Index finger – Stress
- Middle finger – Stress
- Ring finger – Stress
- Little finger – Stress
- Tap your wrists together – Stress
- Side of the hand – Stress
Repeat. If you’re just doing a quick daily tap and you don’t particularly feel stressed, do a 2-3 rounds. If you are feeling stressed, I’d say, stick with it for a good 5-10 minutes taking lots of nice, slow deep breaths in and slowly release. And the same (5-10 Minutes) before tapping on a specific block.
If you’ve been tapping on something and you don’t really feel you’ve noticed a big shift, do 10 minutes of stress tapping and then tap on the thing you want to clear and see if you notice more of a shift. I think you will.

All of this stress I now let it go…
You can do this kind of tapping with any emotion you want to release. You simply say… All of this…(the emotion), I now let it go, soften and flow, soften and flow.
As today we’re working on reducing stress, then that’s what we’ll tap on. You don’t need to do a set-up but say the full phrase at each tapping point.
Tapping points – Top of the head, forehead, eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, under the mouth, collarbone, wrists, thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, little finger.
All of this stress, I now let it go, soften and flow, soften and flow.
Take a nice gentle, slow and relaxed breath at each point. This is a really lovely way to tap. Really focus on your breathing. You’re looking at really slow tapping rounds but you won’t need to do as many full rounds to feel a shift.
Quick Fix breathing and tapping
If you feel really stressed and need a quick fix so that you can carry on, do this until you can really focus more time on the problem.
- Start tapping the side of your hand and keep tapping
- Take a deep breath in and in your mind say “This stress”
- Hold for a count of four and slowly release. As you release your breath in your mind say “Release”
- Repeat 3 times whilst continually tapping the side of your hand
This should have helped you to calm yourself a little now. If you can do a few rounds of quickfire EFT just saying stress as well, that’s a bonus.
- Top of the head – Stress
- Eyebrow – Stress
- Side of the eye – Stress
- Under the eye – Stress
- Under the nose – Stress
- Under the mouth – Stress
- Collarbone – Stress
- Under the arm – Stress
- Side of the hand – Stress
This will help you to release the stress enough to hopefully deal with whatever is going on. I do then encourage you to tap on what you feel caused the stress at a later stage when you can really tap on the problem and release it.
Remember to tap on stress for about 10 minutes to make sure you don’t tap on stress talk and then ask yourself, why did I feel so stressed? Your answer should now be clear and specific for you to tap on when you do this.
What do you want?
How do you want to feel? If you don’t want to feel stressed, how do you want to feel? For me, it’s usually I want to feel calm and relaxed.
As well as using EFT to release emotions, you can also tap in the emotions you do want. After you’ve done your stress tapping, you can then go on to do some positive EFT tapping saying what you do want.
I’m calm and relaxed is a really positive affirmation to say to yourself on its own, combine it with tapping and you make it super powerful.

- Top of the head – I’m calm and relaxed

- Under the nose – I’m calm and relaxed
- Under the mouth – I’m calm and relaxed

Repeat as many times as you want and I recommend, if you can, getting up whilst tapping IN what you want and moving about. I’ve found this really helps me to feel fantastic. Have a go and let me know if it makes a difference to the way you feel.
TIP: Have a drink of water before and after any tapping as this too will help improve the energy flow and of course, keep you nicely hydrated.
EFT Stress tapping round up
I hope you’ve found today’s EFT post really helpful. I encourage some daily stress tapping, even if you don’t feel particularly stressed.
At the end of the day, before you start getting ready for bed or settling down for the evening, you can just do a few rounds saying something like, I’m tapping to release any stress from the day. I’m tapping so that I can now really enjoy the rest of my evening (or for a restful night’s sleep).
- Keep it simple and just tap on the word STRESS
- Tap on stress before trying to clear something specific – To release stress talk
- Focus on your breathing as you tap
- If you are feeling stressed and before tapping on strong emotions, I recommend at least 10 minutes of stress tapping
- An alternate – All of this stress, I now let it go, soften and flow, soften and flow.
- Quickfire stress tapping – Tap the side of the hand Breathe IN – This stress – Breathe OUT – Release.

I was first introduced to EFT with a business coach I hired a couple years ago. Honestly, at first I thought she was crazy… but once I actually trusted the process, I was amazed. Needless to say, two years later and I am definitely walking less stress and more in my God-given purpose in business!

Ha-ha, this made me chuckle. My 18-year-old son thinks I’m nuts although I think he’s secretly impressed. It does feel a bit weird when you first start and I remember thinking this can’t really work but it has worked in so many areas of my life. I love it.

4 years ago with a devastating breakup with a narcissist ( through therapy I’ve come to realize I’m a full blown empath) I began my spiritual awakening! I’ve had devastating deaths, every year while practicing this new way of “therapy” it’s the only thing in 40 years that works and makes sense to me.. I’m at a plateau now & it’s time to replace old habits w/ healthy new ones. Any and all advice is welcomed! It’s not a coincidence I stumbled upon your Pinterest page
