Today I’m going to be sharing tips to help you develop a growth mindset. Initially, I thought I would write about business growth but then I thought, but business or work is only one part of life. We can grow in all areas of life. So that’s what we’ll focus on, all areas of life.
I’ll be sharing some valuable tips and techniques to help you create a positive mindset for growth, including using affirmations, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), the law of attraction and more.
The 8 key areas of life
For most people, we have 8 key areas of life but feel free to add in any other area you want.
- Your Physical Environment (your home and anywhere else you spend a lot of time)
- Your business life/career
- Finances
- Health and wellbeing
- Family and friends
- Romance and relationships
- Personal growth
- Fun and recreation
You can read more about these key areas of life in my post How to balance and improve all areas of your life.
Think about each area of your life and ask ‘How can I grow in this area of my life?’ But don’t feel like you have to grow in all areas.
Write down any thoughts that come up for you and then once you’ve gone through all areas of life, read through all the thoughts you wrote down and ask ‘What is most important to me now?’ Then ask ‘Why is this important to me?’ Write it all down.

How the law of attraction helps with growth
The law of attraction is always working in all areas of your life. The key is to focus on what you want to attract into your life and do this from a place of knowing/believing it’s already on its way to you.
The law of attraction can only give you that which you’re a vibrational match for. The easiest way to explain this is to focus on how you feel.
If you feel positive emotions in connection with what you want, your vibrations are high. So you want to feel as positive as possible about the thing you want to attract so that you become a match for it in your reality.
Take a moment now to focus on the growth you want in your life. When you think about it, how do you feel? Can you improve the way you feel?
Whilst the main thing that the law of attraction responds to is your feelings, it’s also important to pay attention to your thought, beliefs, the things you say and the things you do.
Always aim to show the UNIVERSE that you are a match for what you want to attract into your life.
Below I’m going to share some tips and techniques that will help you to be a match for what you want and help develop your growth mindset.
Using EFT for growth
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. If you’re new to this then please read my EFT guide here on the blog. It’s so easy to learn and an incredibly powerful technique to use in all areas of your life. EFT will help you to tap into your growth mindset.
The EFT Tapping points we’re going to use today are the top of the head, forehead, eyebrow (the thick part), side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, under the mouth, collarbone, under the arm and the side of the hand.
What I would like you to do is really focus on one area of your life where you want growth. For example, if you want to see growth in your business, just take a minute to think about what that actually looks like. Is it more clients? If so, how many?
Maybe it’s to reach a certain number of sales or to achieve a certain income from your business. Personally, I’m focusing on blog growth, in particular growing my blog sessions. I find that when we focus on one specific thing for this kind of EFT tapping, this is the most effective.
Once you’re clear about the growth you want to focus on start tapping the side of your hand (the karate chop point).
SET UP PHRASE – I’m tapping today to clear resistance to achieve growth in my life. For support in creating (now speak about the specific growth you want). Next tap on each of those EFT Tapping points simply saying “Growth”
- Top of the head – Growth
- Forehead – Growth
- Eyebrow – Growth
- Side of the eye – Growth
- Under the eye – Growth
- Under the nose – Growth
- Under the mouth – Growth
- Collarbone – Growth
- Under the arm – Growth
- Side of the hand – Growth
I recommend you complete 3 full rounds taking a nice deep breath in after each round.
You can also try ‘TAP AND TALK’ – Still using the same tapping points, simply talk about the growth you want. You can do this for more than one area of growth you want to focus on.
Change the tapping point at a natural speaking pause and just keep going until you’ve run out of things to say. I really enjoy this type of tapping. Just imagine you’re here with me telling me about the way you want to see growth in your life.
What these EFT sessions will do is help you release resistance (blocks), clear any stuck energy and raise your vibrations which will naturally help you to achieve the growth you want. You’re adding positive energy to the situation. I recommend daily tapping when you have a specific focus.

Using affirmations for growth
Affirmations are positive messages we can fill our minds with. These messages should support you in achieving the life you want as well as remind you about the wonderful things you already have in your life. I encourage you to read How to use Affirmations to make the most of these powerful messages.
Your thoughts are powerful and focusing on affirmations will really help you to develop your growth mindset.
Rather than sharing a long list of affirmations, I encourage you to create specific affirmations based on the growth you actually want.
Of course, an affirmation such as “I am constantly learning new ways to improve my life” will always be useful. But a growth affirmation that is personal to you will be more effective. Let me give you a few examples from my virtual friends.
Jane has a goal to learn a new language (Spanish). She sets aside time each day to practice and learn new words and phrases. A good affirmation for Jane to use would be “Every day I am getting more and more fluent in the Spanish Language”
Amanda is working on improving her confidence and she would benefit from the affirmation “Every day my confidence is improving” or “I am confident now” or more specifically “I am a confident public speaker now.”
Louise is an already successful author with many titles to her name but she feels she still has more to learn as a writer and about how to market her books once published.
An affirmation she could use would be “I am constantly improving as a writer” and to support her learning with how to market her books “I am constantly learning the best ways to market my business”
A few affirmations that I do feel will help everyone with growth are…
- I’m constantly improving my life
- I am constantly improving myself
- I easily attract the right people and the right information to help me grow
BONUS TIP: Combine your own affirmations with EFT – Learn more about why this is so powerful EFT and Affirmations power combo.
Visualize growth
I encourage you to get into the habit of visualizing the growth you want. Again, I encourage you to be specific. Imagine watching a movie in your mind and you are in the movie. See yourself as already achieving the growth you want in your life.
The more you can put yourself into this picture the easier it will be to attract it into your reality. Your subconscious mind will begin to accept this as already real for you long before it is and it will help you. At the very least it will not block you.
Each time you do this, you become more and more of a match for what you want and remember this is really important in law of attraction terms.
Create an action plan
Whilst I absolutely believe we must work on mindset, I feel part of that is actually taking action. Remember when I was talking about the law of attraction, I said that we must pay attention to our actions, well nows the time.
What are the actions you need to take to achieve the growth you want? A clear plan of action will keep you focused.
Acknowledge progress
It’s so important to acknowledge your progress. Sometimes as a full-time blogger, I can get frustrated if page views are down for a while but when I look back at the page views from the same time the previous year, I see the real progress I’ve made over the past 12 months.
Is there a way for you to be able to monitor your growth? if you’re not sure how to do this, drop me a comment below telling me about the growth you want to achieve and I’ll try to help you out.
