Get ready. This is a long blog post and it’s packed with information about the law of attraction for weight loss.
I like to think of the law of attraction as a really powerful helping hand. Used in the right way it has the power to help you create the things you want in your life and that includes achieving the weight that you want.
I’m a qualified law of attraction practitioner – I’ve helped people all around the world understand how to effectively use the power that is the law of attraction. My advice in this blog post is based on my experience as a Mindset Coach, Law of Attraction Practitioner and EFT Master Practitioner.
I AM NOT A WEIGHT LOSS EXPERT OR HEALTH EXPERT.
Before we get started with the special law of attraction for weight loss tips and mindset exercises I want to share a few general notes about the law of attraction.

The law of attraction
Whilst it is true that there are many people in the world who have created the most amazing things almost instantly, for most people, myself included, it’s an ongoing process.
I don’t believe it’s the magic wand that some people will have you believe and I’ve seen people get into all kinds of problems thinking that once they know about the law of attraction, magically their ideal life will just show up.
Yes, this does happen for some people. It didn’t me and it doesn’t for most people. I studied the law of attraction for 2 years and qualified in 2011 and have been using the law of attraction in my own life ever since.
I’ve helped people all over the world understand how the law of attraction works and I still can’t manifest on demand.
Why? Well most of us have years of mind programming that doesn’t support the law of attraction, we have limiting beliefs about all kinds of things and we put up a whole load of blocks so that we don’t manifest the things we want.
So here’s what I want you to do. I want you to think of the law of attraction as a very, very powerful helping hand.
Whilst the law of attraction is constantly working already in your life, you’re probably not using this power that well right now.
The tips I’m going to share below will help you to use the law of attraction to successfully lose weight.

About the law of attraction for weight loss
In this post, I’m focusing specifically on using the law of attraction for weight loss.
However, always remember that the law of attraction is working in all areas of your life. ALWAYS.

The law of attraction can ONLY give you that which you are a vibrational match for.
The easiest way to monitor your emotions is by the way you feel. If you feel positive then generally your vibrations are high. Read Easy ways to raise your vibrations
Your feelings are the most important thing to focus on but there are 5 key areas that the law of attraction responds to…
- Your thoughts
- Feelings
- Beliefs
- The things you say
- The things you do.
I’ll explain how you can work on these things to be a match for attracting what you want.
Ready? Let’s get started.
Thoughts and weight loss
Your thoughts are incredibly powerful. We have this ongoing conversation going on inside our heads and it often doesn’t support us.
Mike Dooley from the hit movie The Secret says “Thoughts become things.
Whilst I think this is only part of the big picture, we definitely need to pay attention to our thoughts.
Let’s say you see a healthy eating plan that you like the look of. If you quickly start thinking “I’ll never stick to that. I can never stick to anything.” These thoughts are not supporting you.
Let’s tie this in with your feelings.
Using the example above, you see something you want to do and that maybe feels quite exciting, uplifting, hopeful… (these are all high vibrating feelings).
But then if those limiting beliefs kick in, your vibrations start to drop. You start to feel like you can’t do it. You doubt yourself…
If we can work on our thoughts being more and more positive, we stop this process. We fill our minds with thoughts that will support you on your weight loss journey.

Here’s a little mindset trick – Whenever you catch yourself with limiting or negative thoughts, simply SPOT THEM and SWAP THEM.
Take a negative thought and swap it for something better feeling. Remember the key is paying attention to how you feel.
Feelings and weight loss
We’ve already established that it’s your feelings that really matter. All of the law of attraction for weight loss tips in this post lead to feeling more positive, but I do want to share a few ideas that will help you to raise your vibrations to feel positive.
Focus on the positives – Yes I know this sounds obvious, but most of us are super good at focusing on the negative – the things we don’t like/don’t want. So, shift your focus to what you like and what you want. Here’s a fabulous power question – If I don’t want this, what do I want?
Visualize yourself as slim and healthy – The more you spend time doing this, the easier it is for your subconscious mind to allow this. Check out my Melt Away Excess Weight Visualization
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a powerful way to release negative emotions in a super positive way. All emotions are completely natural. For example, if someone we love dies, of course, we will feel sad.
If someone treats us badly, we will likely feel hurt. If things are going wrong, we may well feel frustrated… Comfort eating is a big problem for many people (myself included) and we comfort eat to make ourselves feel better. Instead, give EFT a try to release these emotions. There are lots of free EFT scripts here on the blog.

Beliefs that support weight loss
Our beliefs are a major factor in what shows up in our life. Our beliefs generally support us in achieving what we want or they block us.
Throughout our lives, we collect all kinds of beliefs from all kinds of people, and often the beliefs that block us come from our childhood and from people who genuinely love us.
A good starting place for removing limiting beliefs with regard to weight loss, being healthy and your body is to ask this question…
What do I believe?
Here are a few common beliefs that block us from weight loss success.
- It’s in my genes, I’m just meant to be fat
- I don’t have the willpower to stick to a healthy eating diet/exercise routine…
- I hate my body/I hate the way I look/I hate the way I feel
- It’s really hard to lose weight
- I can’t lose weight and keep it off.
Next ask, “Is this really true? Or is it just a belief I can change?
2 ways to help change limiting beliefs about weight loss
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) – Clearing Limiting Beliefs with EFT
Tapping on the belief you currently hold will help to release any emotions and energy blocks as well as shift the limiting belief. You can also use positive EFT to help introduce new beliefs.
Tap out your limiting beliefs – Tap in the beliefs that will support you.
HYPNOSIS – I am a huge fan of hypnosis downloads. I find them super relaxing and they work to shift your beliefs in such a positive way. Check out this post with my top recommendations Hypnosis downloads for weight loss.
Also, constantly try to be aware of your beliefs. They show up through the things you think, the things you say and the things you do.
SWAP THE BELIEF – If I don’t want to believe this what do I want to believe? Example…
If I don’t want to believe that it’s hard to lose weight, what do I want to believe?
ANSWER: It’s easy to lose weight. Make this an affirmation you repeat regularly throughout the day. Tap in this belief using EFT. These kinds of exercises are incredibly powerful.
Speak in a way that supports weight loss
What we say is often a really good indication of what we believe, so really start paying attention to what you say to yourself and what you say to others in connection with weight loss.
Here’s a great tip. If you find yourself in a conversation where someone is expressing limiting ideas about weight loss.
Such as, It’s so hard to lose weight, in your head, say to yourself, this is not my truth now – It’s easy for me to lose weight, be healthy and live a healthy life.
If you catch yourself saying negative things about yourself, about weight loss, being healthy… spot it and swap it. Swap it for something better feeling. Your affirmations can really help here.
Do things that support weight loss
This one’s a no-brainer. If you want to be slim and healthy and choose to sit on the sofa all day munching your way through crisps, and chocolate… you’re not a match for improving your health and being slim.
That being said, you don’t need to wake up in the morning, go for a five-mile run before hitting the gym for an hour and eat nothing more than salad.
Instead, think of small changes that send a powerful message. Go for a walk, get up every hour from your work and do something active, think about your meals in advance and plan out what you’re going to eat throughout the day, start meal planning, dance around the house, dress yourself up really nicely in clothes you love, take really good care of yourself, have a massage, take a nice long soak in the bath…
Think what would the slim and healthy version of me do.

Law of attraction weight loss exercise – Identify when your weight gain started
Can you identify when your weight gain started or weight issues started and what was going on in your life at that time?
I can tell you exactly when mine started. It was after the birth of my son. I’m not talking about baby weight issues. I was running a busy pub restaurant (with my now ex-husband) and it wasn’t a calm and relaxed environment by any stretch of the imagination.
On top of that, my son hardly slept until he was two and a half years old. I was constantly exhausted. I ate to stay awake and because my son cat napped I ate really, really quickly.
Then my son grew up and I was still blaming him when I created my 30-Day Weight Loss Mindset Challenge he was well into his teens by then (poor child).
You see the problem was, even though he changed his sleeping habits and my life changed so that it wasn’t so chaotic, my eating habits didn’t change.
So the weight piled on year after year. By identifying when my weight gain really became an issue for me, I was able to release the emotions that were attached to this time as well as work on changing my behaviour patterns which were formed at this time.

LAW OF ATTRACTION EXERCISE TO RELEASE THE PAST AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO MOVE FORWARD
Try to pinpoint when your weight gain started and what was going on at that time in your life. Please note that this can be a happy time, a sad time…it’s different for everyone. Just try to be as clear as you can about the specific time for you personally.
I want you to really think about who you were at that point and how you felt, what was going on in your life? In your mind, stand that version of yourself in front of you.
Tell that version of you anything you want them to know. Tell them you love and accept them and imagine them giving you a big hug.
Think back to that time, what did you need that you weren’t getting? Was it love, kindness, affection, patience, sleep, encouragement or advice from someone trusted?
Ask the old you what they need from you now.
Sit with that question and just quiet your mind. Allow any thoughts to come to you.
You may get an answer at this time.
It may be “I need to feel loved” in this case, give the old you love.
It may be “I need you to help me take care of myself.”
Or in my case “I need you to slow down”
Some of the other things that came up for me were, I needed someone to give me a big hug and tell me I was doing okay. I needed a gentle word of encouragement and kind advice to take good care of myself so that I could be the best mum to my son.
You may not get your answer straight away. Just keep coming back and doing this exercise. Your subconscious mind will give you the answer if you keep asking.

I’m a huge fan of hypnosis downloads. You simply pop them on and listen, I often fall asleep listening to the downloads. I like to put them on at the end of the night when I’m in bed.

By identifying when your weight gain started, you can do the exercise I recommended.
- Identify when your weight gain started
- Focus on the person you were then, how you felt, what was going on in your life
- Ask yourself, What does this version of me need?

- Visualize yourself now, giving that old version of you what you needed back then

Clarity – Get clear about your goal weight
Most of us who have ever been on a weight loss journey will be able to say a number on the scales we want to be. Whilst this is a good indicator, it’s not the only thing to get clear about. Other things to think about are…
- What dress size you will be?
- What your health is like overall? (how will your health be different from today?)
- What are your fitness levels like? How often are you exercising?
- What are your eating habits like? (I encourage you to be realistic here. You don’t need the answer to this to be something like, I eat 3 lettuce leaves for lunch or I eat a maximum of 800 calories a day)
- How much water are you drinking?
- What is your lifestyle like overall? How is it different to today?
- What clothes do you love to wear? Why?
- When you look at yourself in the mirror, how do you feel?
I really want you to get to know this version of you and this version of your healthy and slim life.

Raise Your Vibrations
Feel positive on the journey. Enjoy your weight loss journey. I know we all want to already be the weight we want but we have to learn to feel really positive about the journey, feel better about our body now and about developing healthier habits.
Mindset exercises to enjoy the journey and love your body
Write down all the things you love about your body now (if you struggle with the word love right now, what do you like).
Another good habit to get into is standing in front of a full-length mirror and starting from your feet, saying something positive – For example, I like my feet because I can use them to walk, to get to places I want to go, to do my exercise… Work all the way up your body saying as many positive things as possible.
I encourage you to take my LOVE YOURSELF CHALLENGE – Loving yourself is, I believe the best thing that you can do for yourself.
Work on developing a really positive relationship with your body, with food and exercising.

Your power question – What can I do to enjoy this journey more?
Don’t block yourself
Ooh, most of us are so good at blocking ourselves from achieving what we want in life.
The techniques I recommend for releasing blocks and allowing are EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques (read my EFT Guide for instructions) and Hypnosis Downloads. Both of these techniques will help you to release old patterns.
I love hypnosis downloads and I’ve personally been using them for years to help me achieve the life I want for myself. Posts to check out are Healthy Living Hypnosis and Hypnosis downloads for weight loss.
I tend to put my hypnosis downloads on when I go to bed. If I’m really struggling with something then I’ll listen to the download a few times throughout the day.

EFT Tapping to help release blocks to achieving your weight loss goal
So, you’ve got your goal and you’ve got a plan of action to help get you there, such as healthier eating, exercising regularly and working on your mindset regularly.
But often you have this little voice in your head saying, “Yeah, you’ll never be slim, you’ll never be that weight you want…” These are limiting beliefs (blocks) that we need to work on.
Here’s a simple EFT Script to help clear those beliefs. Tapping on each of the EFT points (Top of the head, forehead, eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, under the mouth, collarbone, under the arm, side of the hand) saying, Even though I don’t really believe that I can achieve my Goal Weight, I love and accept myself and I am open to change.
I recommend that you complete several rounds saying Even though I don’t really believe that I can achieve my Goal Weight, I love and accept myself and I am open to change. Take nice slow and deep breaths regularly whilst tapping. I would say a minimum of 5 rounds I’d really like you to take your time with this.
Once you’ve done your clearing work, you can do some positive EFT such as saying I’m focused on creating a healthy life for myself. I am active, I choose foods that support me on my weight loss journey…
I recommend daily EFT work when you’re on your weight loss journey and especially when you’re working on making changes in your life.
Visualize
Close your eyes and imagine walking up a beautiful path. As you turn the corner, you see this new version of you (the slim and healthy you) in a beautiful garden. Really look at this new you. How do you look, what are you wearing, How are you moving…?
The more you get familiar with this new version of yourself, the more you become a match for being this person. You are sending out a powerful message to the Universe about what you want to attract (law of attraction) and your subconscious mind accepts these images as already being true and does everything it can to support you.
Positive Messages
I’m a huge fan of affirmations. They’ve really helped me to change my life for the better. These are positive, present tense statements we say to support us. I encourage you to read my full How to use Affirmations Guide – This guide really helps you to understand the best ways to use affirmations to support you. I have many affirmations posts here on the blog which I encourage you to read and try out for yourself.
A few of my favourite affirmations for weight loss are…
- Every day I make healthy choices for myself
- I’m creating a healthy lifestyle for myself
- Every day I move closer to my ideal weight
- I make choices now that really help me achieve my goal weight
- I’m slim, healthy and strong
Afformations for weight loss
Also, we can use AFFORMATIONS. These are questions we ask ourselves such as… Why is it easy now for me to eat healthily? How did it get so easy for me to exercise daily?
For more on afformations, please read Afformations for healthy eating and Afformations for weight loss. I love having fun with these questions. The idea is that you are kind of tricking your subconscious mind into supporting you.
Celebrate successes (all successes)
Celebrate all your successes not just a loss on the weighing scales. Every small change you make is a success.
For example, I am typically not someone who likes exercising but I know when I do, I feel better and it’s good for weight loss and my overall health and wellbeing. So every time I exercise, I celebrate that success.
For those of you who have been following this blog for a while, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Lucy Wyndham-Read Workouts on YouTube.
Lucy recommends putting a bit of money in a jar every time you do a workout to buy a treat for yourself at the end of the month, etc. I think this is a really nice idea. I do it slightly differently, mainly because I don’t really use cash much. Instead, I tick off each day. If I have more than 20 ticks at the end of the month I can treat myself to flowers, a book or clothes.
Love yourself NOW
My final tip is so important and I think so many of us neglect this. I did for many years. When we’re overweight, it’s so, so easy to say horrible things to ourselves and not really like things about ourselves.
Let’s turn that around – I really encourage you to take my Love Yourself More Challenge. As a minimum, get into the daily habit of standing in front of the mirror and saying I LOVE YOU every morning without fail.
Don’t wait for that magic weigh-in moment to start loving yourself, you need to start where you are right now.

Although I haven’t actually talked that much about the law of attraction in this post, all of the exercises are based around the law of attraction and help you be more and more of a match for achieving the weight you want.

- Get really clear about what your goal weight really looks like and what your lifestyle looks like at that weight
- Raise your vibes – What do you already like, or love about yourself? What makes your body amazing right now? (For example, My hands are amazing because I can type with them…) – Do a body scan in front of the mirror saying something positive about each area of your body starting at your feet – Keep finding ways to enjoy building a healthy lifestyle for yourself
- Don’t block yourself – Allow. Try using EFT and hypnosis downloads to get out of your own way
- Visualize yourself at the weight you want to be
- Fill your mind with positive messages that support you – Use affirmations and afformations
- Celebrate all your successes not just a weight loss on the scales
- Love yourself and your body now
3 law of attraction for weight loss questions – Clarity
The 3 law of attraction for weight loss questions that I’m about to share with you will help you to gain clarity and send a powerful message out into the Universe.
There are 3 clear steps in the law of attraction process which are, CLARITY, RAISING YOUR VIBRATIONS and ALLOWING.
You may be thinking, but I know what I want, Wendy. I want to lose weight, but from a law of attraction point of view saying “I want to lose weight” is actually not helpful when it comes to using the law of attraction.
Here’s a very quick explanation – When you say “I want to lose weight” the Universe here’s “I want WEIGHT!” I know this is not what you want.
So, today we’re going to get clarity about what you want LAW OF ATTRACTION STYLE.
3 LAW OF ATTRACTION FOR WEIGHT LOSS QUESTIONS
Now, remember before you start answering these questions that the way you ask for things matters when it comes to the law of attraction.
1. WHAT DO YOU WANT AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO YOU?
I know these are 2 questions but I want you to answer them together. Remember to avoid “I want to lose weight.” instead, go for things like…
- I want to be slim
- I want to be healthy
- I want to easily fit into my beautiful size 12 dress and look fantastic
Then I want you to go a step further and add your why. This may be something like, I want to be slim so that I can wear the clothes I love, feel well and look the way I want. I want to be healthy and well so that I can really enjoy my life to the max, be able to do all the things I want and live a long life.
You can read my 7 reasons to lose weight for more ideas. Obviously, make your own reasons true for you. Also, they must genuinely be YOUR reasons, so not “I want to be slim because my husband wants me to be” is not going to work.
2. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
Imagine yourself at your ideal weight. What does it look like? What do you look like?
Describe it in as much detail as you can – Write it down. I encourage you to have a dedicated IDEAL WEIGHT JOURNAL to keep all your notes and complete your exercises.
A few things to think about…
- What do you look like?
- What are you wearing?
- How are you spending your time?
- What foods are you enjoying?
- How are you keeping active?
Please note that there are no wrong answers here.
Here’s an example…
I am lovely and slim and toned. My skin looks lovely and healthy and my hair is shiny. I’m wearing my favourite size 12 dress and I look great in it. It hangs perfectly over my slim tummy.
My arms are bare and they look toned and tanned. I’m having lunch with my sisters, I’ve chosen a tropical salad, it looks so bright and colourful, served with delicious crusty bread and a big glass of iced water.
I do some EFT daily to help me stay super positive and keep my energy free flowing. I listen to a healthy hypnosis download in the evening and practice my affirmations in the morning. This morning, I took my dog for a 30-minute walk which we do every day and I did my morning workout.
3. WHAT DO OTHER PEOPLE SAY?
Imagine that you are at a social event with people that you haven’t seen for a long time since you were overweight.
They don’t mention your weight at all but after you leave some of the people say how nice it was to see you and talk about how great you look now. Write down what they say about you. NOTE: You’re in control here so make it super positive.
Example – Didn’t she look so well and so slim, I loved that dress she was wearing, so looked beautiful.
CREATE A SUPER CLEAR PICTURE OF YOURSELF AT YOUR IDEAL WEIGHT
The more clarity you can get and the clearer you can make that picture of yourself at your ideal weight the better.
These law of attraction for weight loss questions will really help you to gain clarity and build your ideal weight picture.
Enjoy focusing on yourself at your ideal weight often.
