When to say your relaxation affirmations
You can of course use these affirmations for relaxing at any time throughout the day especially when you feel you need to calm down. When I’m feeling anxious, I repeat the affirmation “I’m calm and relaxed” and I focus on my breathing.
I breathe in nice and deeply through my nose and then slowly release through my mouth. As I do this, in my mind I will say the affirmations – “I breathe in relaxation” and as I breathe out “I release any stress/tension/anxiety”
Use the words that match how you feel and how you want to feel. So this may change to “I breathe in calm” and “I release this worry”
As you read through the examples I’ve given you, slow down your breathing, maybe try taking a nice deep breath and releasing between each affirmation.
You can focus on just one of the affirmations that really resonates with you, you can choose a few to repeat or repeat them all. Do whatever feels right for you.
Also, I would normally recommend saying affirmations out loud, however, I’ve personally found that when I’m trying to relax, it often works better for me to simply say the affirmations in my mind.

Use your Affirmations with EFT tapping
Combine your relaxation affirmations with EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques). If you don’t yet know what EFT is, please check out this simple EFT GUIDE right here on the blog.
By combining your affirmations to relax with EFT tapping, you will release any resistance to the affirmations being true for you and you’ll raise your vibrations to allow yourself to take in the words and become more and more relaxed.
Whenever I feel really anxious, I’ll tap on the affirmation “I’m calm and relaxed” – If I’m in a public place, I’ll tap on the side of my hand (See how to do hand EFT). This has helped me to calm my mind many times over the years.
