Breathe in calm

Breathing deeply will always help to calm your mind. Try this simple breathing exercise…

Take a nice deep breath in and slowly release, repeat. As you breathe in, in your mind say I breathe in calm. As you release the breath, say I release any tension. do this a few times and you should feel much calmer.

Combine your affirmations with EFT

When you combine your affirmations with EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques, you release energy that is causing you to feel stressed, tense, anxious, fearful, overwhelmed… You will improve your energy flow and as you say your calming affirmations, you will feel calmer and calmer.

When I feel particularly stressed

I want to share what I do when I need to calm down quickly. I do the breathing exercise, where I breathe in calm and release tension as I breathe out, and I go straight into my EFT tapping using the affirmation I’m calm and relaxed over and over. I keep focusing on relaxing my breathing.

If I’m in a public place and don’t want to start tapping on the usual EFT points, I will just tap on the side of my hand – See Hand EFT tapping.

Use these affirmations as needed

When I write affirmation posts, I generally advise my readers to fill their mind with positive affirmations throughout the day, but this is one of those situations where you’ll generally use affirmations like I’m calm and relaxed only when you’re actually stressed or fearful, etc.

What you’re looking to do with your calming affirmations is to tell your subconscious mind that you are calm.

Often when you’re not feeling calm, you’ll have all kinds of stress-based self-talk going on in your head. The calming affirmations will replace this negative self-talk and calm you down. You’re shifting your focus to better-feeling thoughts and this is powerful.

I already have loads of affirmation posts here on the blog, but I’d really love for you to let me know if there’s a topic you’d like me to cover.

Now that you’re hopefully nice and calm, check out these posts too…

  • Gratitude Affirmations

I’d really love you to share this post anywhere you can. Thanks – Coach Wendy
