Today, I want to share four techniques to release anger. Before I tell you about them, I want to say a couple of things.
First, if you feel that anger is a big problem in your life and you are putting others or yourself in danger please seek professional advice.
The first port of call could be your local doctor who should be able to point you in the right direction.
Secondly, please know that anger is a natural emotion from time to time but we can use these techniques to help release the feelings.
Breathe in calmer feelings
I know this sounds too simple to be effective but actually, I find that it’s the simple things that are often the most effective.
Take a nice deep breath in, hold briefly and slowly release. Breathe in calm, and as you breathe out, release the anger. Repeat several times until you feel the anger release.
The pillow punch releases anger
Seriously, go shut yourself in the bedroom on your own and punch the pillows. Shout it out too if that helps. Keep punching until you feel your muscles relax and the anger ease.
The aim is to release the energy creating the anger. People also find that exercise helps release anger and negative emotions.
EFT – Tap out feelings of anger
If you’ve never heard of EFT before please read my EFT GUIDE. It’s super easy and so powerful.
Here’s a quickfire EFT SCRIPT TO RELEASE ANGER…
- Top of the head – This anger (or you can say this feeling)
- Forehead – This anger
- Eyebrow – This anger
- Side of the eye – This anger
- Under the eye – This anger
- Under the nose – This anger
- Under the mouth – This anger
- Collarbone – This anger
- Under the arm – This anger
- Side of the hand – This anger.
Keep repeating this simple EFT round until you feel calmer. Once you start to feel calmer you can start to tap in the feeling you want. For example, Instead of saying this anger, you can say Calm.
Another fantastic phrase to say at the tapping points is “All of this anger, I now let it go, soften and flow, soften and flow.”
If you’re in a public place and you don’t want to start tapping on the face points, etc. Then you can simply tap the side of your hand – Read Hand EFT
Tap on the cause of the anger
Once you do feel calm, I recommend that you also look at what caused the anger. If this is something that comes up frequently, I recommend tapping on those things to help release emotions.
For example… Uncle Henry makes me so angry when he speaks to me disrespectfully. Or, I’m so angry that the driver cut me up, or, I’m so angry that nobody ever helps around the house.
